I had done a lot of research on the Sony digital photo printer, and some others, online and decided to go with the Sony DPP-SV55. I was excited to try it out because the reviews online raved about it, but I was totally blown away when I saw the quality of the first few prints I made. The glossy finish, dye sublimation richness, sharp color, and 4x6 borderless prints make them indistinguishable from prints you get from a Photo Lab. We have young kids and do a lot of scrapbooking, so the glossy finish images were essential, since ink jet images will fade after only two years.

Setup was very easy. In a matter of 10 minutes, I was plugged in and making prints. The paper packs make the process even easier because each pack comes with the film cartridge to print all the sheets from the pack. Loading the paper and cartridges is also very easy. The prints come out fast, and you don't have to wait for them to dry.

The software setup is easy, one quick installation from the included CD. It basically installs the print drivers for the printer. Once the printer is connected with a USB cable (not included), I was immediately able to print directly from the imaging software that came with my Sony D50 Cybershot camera. It also has a built in Creative Print lab program, but you have to hook up the printer to a TV to view and work with it. But the images are nice and you can do some cool things like print photo greeting cards and calendars.

There was no graininess in the prints at all, and the images came from my above mentioned camera (2.1 megapixels). All of the prints we have made turned out wonderful.

I suppose I should mention a couple of cons, but their really not a big deal: The unit does not come with a USB cable for some reason, even though it is required to print from a PC (It does include the video cable). Second, some of the colors on our prints (particularily reds) we a little off and overly bright, but all-in-all, we are very thrilled with the prints it makes.

Received this printer a week ago, and have been very impressed with the print quality. We've only got a 1.6 megapixel camera, but setting the image at 300 DPI and printing at the printer's 403 produces incredibly realistic photos. With the 4 x 6 postcard paper, we get very impressive borderless images. And, the speed is acceptable -- IMO, better than some ink jets. While it is still expensive to run this printer, when you want something that has a longer ink life (from fade) than the typical ink or bubble jet, and you want to avoid little dots or bands, this is the way to go. The only problem I've heard is finding paper & cartridges (Sony packages the paper and cartridges together so you use them as a "set.") With this item, I might just take my film camera out of the rotation once and for all.

It took me a long time to decide what photo printer to get. After tons of research, I decided to go with the Sony DPPSV55 and I'm totally impressed and happy with the decision I made. The quality of the photos exceeded my expectations and the features are extremely easy to use and navigate and I don't need a computer. I just hooked it up to my TV and I was ready to go. The paper is a little pricey, but for me it's much cheaper than the photo lab. Unlike the lab, I'm in control of what photos I want, how many of each I want, and when I want them. Totally convenient for people like myself that aren't the world's best photographers. But what totally won me over is the dye-sublimation technology with the coating that enables the photos to last much longer and are more durable than the inkjet photos. When I take pictures of friends and family, I would like the photos to last forever. Sony made that possible. Only downside, not that it really bothers me, is the availability of paper at this time since the technology is pretty new. Few places carry it from where I live and right now they are all sold out. I've been ordering mine online through Sony's website. Other than that, no complaints. If you are looking for high quality 4x6 photos at a reasonable price and want your photos to last a lifetime, this is the printer of choice.

Comply foam eartips are a great upgrade over the stock silicon eartips included with most earphones / IEMs. Where I find that silicon eartips become uncomfortable within 60 minutes (if I'm lucky) or 10 minutes (if I'm not lucky or the eartip fit / design is poor), I've not yet had any comfort issues with the Comply T-500 tips.

One thing to note is that these tips have a tendency to slightly muffle high treble coming out of the earphones. This can be a negative or positive depending on how "bright" the earphone's sound is. The Comply tips also make it much easier to get a good seal in the ear, which is essential for most earphones to get realistic bass response.

(Note: I use black T500s with Ultimate Ears 700 earphones. In this case I found the slight reduction in treble to be a plus.)

I won't say that these are completely flawless, but they're the best I've seen so far.

Once in a while one of the companies will furnish earbud pieces that actually stay in, and
seal well. (Strangely, my last pair of buds with excellent ear-piece fittings were a
cheap Sony version I picked up in the city on discount --I have never since encountered a
better fit, even in Sennheiser, Koss, you name it.) These foam tips make up for it all.
They work great. My only issue is that if you exercise they occasionally need to be
pulled out and reseated. Not sure if it is body temperature change or something else.
Adjusting will not do. You need to actually (and very simply) pull them out and reseat
them, and the fit returns immediately.

The pack comes with three sets of tips. I am still working on my first set. Do not be
alarmed when the tips seem to become misshapen, which is normal. I believe someone else
here mentioned a way to clean them. I have not had to do that yet. I figure that if the
three sets of tips give me a full year or more of use (changing them every four months or
so), then they are well worth the bucks.

These fit perfectly on my Altec Lansing UHP336 earphones, and the sound is wonderful. They are not totally sound isolating, but for a recent flight across the country they enabled me to listen clearly to my iPod while doing a good job of blocking out the baby that was three rows away, and the steady hum of the engines. I totally recommend them - they are used exactly like shooter plugs.

Ryan Winfield wrote a page-turner. Know that you may have to read beyond your bedtime. Know that you'll want to warn our hero,Trevor Roberts, away from a long list of evils--but to no avail. Trevor navigates treacherous waters in South of Bixby Bridge. Winfield has a direct, unadorned style that suits this contemporary story about a lonely young man with a sad past, a promising future, and confused priorities. You root for Trevor from the get-go, and that's Winfield's skill at creating a sympathetic character with a host of troubles. Winfield also nails setting descriptions. I walked around in Trevor's world while reading this novel. Too many authors ignore setting, as if all that matters is the action. But we care far more about what happens when we understand the world the characters inhabit; when we inhabit that world with them.

In SOUTH OF BIXBY BRIDGE Ryan "falls with the man" and both, thank God, get unstuck from the pavement and live to tell the tale. As one of Ryan's many friends and teachers I commend - without reservation and to every one who reads or wants to write - this moving, funny, sexy, infinitely human book.

If you have not been to Hell and back it is hard to describe the journey. In his debut novel "South of Bixby Bridge" Ryan Winfield creates a vivid, sometimes painful, but always brutally honest portrait of the descent and climb that, like the rolling hills of Northern California lunge forward and then retreat and always provide surprises around the blind corners. Anyone who has hit bottom and tried to rebound will root for Trevor, a stockbroker fresh out of rehab trying to maintain his resolve to reclaim his life in a world determined to tempt and taunt him, and carrying the dark passenger of a past that haunts him and nearly broke him. There are no cliches here. Winfield carves sentences deftly and with laser-like precision. The depth and meaning of these paragraphs spring forward with crisp detail and vivid phrases so powerful you'll want to copy them to carry on a card in your wallet to read again and again. Early into the work I realize that this is not a derivative retread but fresh and new and at times shocking and unapologetic in showing the open wounds. Fans of John Steinbeck and Jack Kerouac have an author for the new century. This is a novel to put beside well-worn copies of Cormac Mccarthy whose prose is matched. I hope Winfield's next novel is in print soon. This is a writer to watch.

I owned a earlier model Grass Hog many years back and on my heavily bushed properties it was a true work horse when properly cared for. My dad borrowed my GH and left it out in the weather and it got all mucked up. I needed a weed trimmer - electric corded because gas trimmers are a stinky pain and batteries in cordless trimmers don't last long enough for my needs - So I again turned to a B&D Grass Hog - the refirubed GH700 look like a good deal so I bought one - the first day right out of the box it cut a heavily over grown yard like a champ. As suspected I would, I went through a whole spool of line - and the Hog didn't miss a beat. I reloaded with line on hand and finished up. I hosed off the yard muck and it looks like new. It has plenty of power and the head flips for curb edging QUICK!
My only cons are, it could use a tad thicker stock line and like many weed trimmers it has no hanging hook for EZ storage - but a piece of stiff steel wire and a hose clamp solves that problem with any weed trimmer. I've never had any line feed issues; I suspect those who have trouble with the double line feed must doing something wrong or pushing too hard expecting it to perform like a gas model(?)

My neighbor talked me into buying an electric grass trimmer since my all-in-one gas trimmer went out. I was very pleased with the lightness of weight and very shocked by the power. I always thought that gas trimmers were the most powerful. The only thing that I'm not happy about is being tethered by the cord. Coming from a long time gas trimmer user, it's just something that I have to get use to, but I can live with it. It does not take away from the trimmer at all. I wish that there were plastic blade attachments that I could purchase (like you can for gas trimmers) instead of using string all of the time. The string runs out too fast (after a couple of mowings; around 2 to 3 week periods). I looked for those attachments (at Lowe's and Home Depot) and found some for older models, but none for this model. If anyone knows where I can find some, please let me know.

I bought this for my Oregon 400t. I've used it on several fishing trips. The mount is small and compact. The unit connects easily and disconnects easily. It is a super mount. Holds the unit securely. I put the unit on and take it off with absolutely no issues. I'd highly recommend this mount for Garmin GPS units it is intended for. The unit clicks in securely and locks in. To remove the unit from the mount you just have to hold in the lever on the back and slide the unit up to detach. The unit attaches and detaches very easily. You can rotate it and then tighten it down. You can also adjust the pitch angle to your desired viewing angle. Great product for my Oregon 400t when I use it with lake maps in my fishing boat. Combine this mount with LakeMaster Lake Maps and the Garmin Vehicle power cable, which I plug into auxilary power plug in my boat, and they turn my Oregon 400t into a great GPS uinit for my fishing boat.
